Cricket has always been a passion for me. It is one thing that actually flows in my blood (I mean it).
I started playing cricket when I was hardly 3 years. What I hear from my dad is that I was always technically strong. Used to have a very neat batting and bowling action. Thanks to my dad, my first coach.
My cricketing skills have always seen a raising learning curve. It was my physical fitness that always pulled me back from going to higher level.
My mom being a teacher, I again have this quality of spreading the knowledge in my blood. So, I ended up learning about a kids cricket coaching in Seattle. Thanks to Vishwa Gaddamanugu garu.
The first thing that stuck my head was, I should be a part of this. When I shared this thought to my friends and family, I obviously didn't get a positive response. But, to clear everyone's ideas, cricket is not just a physical strain sport. It helps in building an individual. Specially when you are learning and playing this game frequently at a very young age, its not just your cricketting skills that develop, but its your physical fitness, your social skills, your presence of mind, social and inter-personal skills.
Thanks to Northwest cricket league for taking this iniative of starting a kids coaching program. Thanks to all the cricketers who are part of this and are helping out in making this program a huge success.
I was lucky to be part of this initiative program and i'm happy that kids in the USA are getting to learn the game at a very young age.
Here are some pics form last years sessions:

So, if you know any kids (boys or girls), just pull them into cricket. Well actually, not just cricket, be it any team sport. :) Trust me, that helps a lot!!
